This Privacy Policy describes how Wisconsin Opinion Study. (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Wisconsin Opinion Study”) collects information on its website, www.wisurvey.org (“Website”) and uses that information. Wisconsin Opinion Study is an online opinion research panel for individuals who are no younger than eighteen (18) years of age at the time of enrollment. This Website allows you to enroll in and respond to surveys (“Services”).

THE SERVICES

Once you receive notification of the survey from us, you will opt in on the Website using a code or other identifier to actually participate in the study. With your consent, you will periodically be sent email or sms communications from Wisconsin Opinion Study inviting you to participate in surveys as well as occasional Member Service emails. If you no longer want to receive these communications, you must request that Wisconsin Opinion Study discontinue sending you emails or cancel your membership as described in the “Our Opt-Out Policy” section below. 

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT 

Information You Provide Us.

We collect the following personal information when you provide it to us, including without limitation in the following circumstances:

  • Website Registration Form. Our Website’s registration form requires you to give us enrollment contact information including your full name, mailing address, and email address to participate in our surveys and to enable us to respond to other information requests from you. This information is compulsory to register you as a member of Wisconsin Opinion Study. You can choose not to provide this information, but doing so will make you unable to enroll in the Wisconsin Opinion Study program and ineligible for any rewards. When you complete your first Wisconsin Opinion Study survey, we will ask for your email address or mobile phone number. In addition to using this email address to provide you with any reward, we will enroll you in the Wisconsin Opinion Study program. By providing your email address or mobile phone number, you consent to become a member of this program. No further action is required from you to become or remain a member of the program. As a member of a program, we will email you with future opportunities to take surveys. We reserve the right to exclude you or remove you from the program at any time for any reason in our sole discretion. 
  • Surveys. Wisconsin Opinion Study may invite you to participate in online surveys through the Website. The information requested in these surveys may include, but is not limited to, your opinions, demographics, and activities. These surveys may also request information defined as sensitive (e.g. data directly or indirectly revealing racial and ethnic origins, political, philosophical or religious opinions, trade union affiliation, health or sexual life). We collect the information you provide to us in response to these surveys.
  • Contests. From time to time, Wisconsin Opinion Study may sponsor sweepstakes and contests on this Website and, as a result, may request information from you for participation purposes. The information we request for participation in contests may include your name, email address, mobile phone, or mailing address. Your participation in these contests is completely voluntary and you have the choice of whether to disclose this information. 

We may also augment your personal information with other information about you that we obtain from third parties or publicly, such as voting history, consumer data and responses to surveys run by other organizations.

Information We Collect Automatically.

As you use our Website, we may gather certain information the following information  automatically and store it in secure log files. This information may include but is not limited to internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser types, internet service providers (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating systems, date/time stamps, and/or clickstream data.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We use your data to provide our Services efficiently and effectively. Additionally, we use your personal information:

  • To notify you of new surveys, awards, prizes, or member services;
  • To communicate with you, for example about changes to our Website, to provide customer service, or to provide our newsletter;
  • Research purposes of the Wisconsin Opinion Survey;

We may use and share anonymized information or de-identified information, which does not identify you personally without restriction.  

THE WEBSITE’S USE OF COOKIES

From time to time, we may allow a third-party media service to display content on our Website. These third-party media services may use cookies within their content (e.g., to analyze trends, administer some part of the Website, track users’ movements, etc.). This Website may contain links to other internet sites that are not operated or controlled by Wisconsin Opinion Study. We cannot control and are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. Any interaction on social media or other third-party websites is governed not by this Privacy Policy but by the terms of use and privacy policy of the particular platform or website.

YOUR CHOICES

Our Opt-Out Policy.

If you would like to stop receiving Wisconsin Opinion Study membership emails, Wisconsin Opinion Study mailings or to opt out of membership, you may request that your membership be cancelled by emailing us at info@wisurvey.org. You may also click the unsubscribe link in any email we send you to stop receiving emails from us. 

Cookies.

You can refuse to accept cookies, free of charge, by adjusting the privacy settings of your Web browser software. However, if you do not allow cookies from Wisconsin Opinion Study, you may not be able to use all of the features on this Website. 

HOW TO DELETE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION 

To delete your personally identifiable information from the Wisconsin Opinion Study database and deactivate or terminate your account, please email us info@wisurvey.org. We will delete your data to the extent reasonably possible and/or respond to your request within 30 days of its submission. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. 

DATA SECURITY MEASURES 

This Website has security measures (including online and offline physical, electronic and managerial safeguards) in place designed to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information, including your email address, under our control. As with any transmission over the Internet; however, there is always some element of risk involved in sending personal information online. WE ARE COMMITTED TO CHILDREN’S PRIVACY 

We take children’s privacy seriously. We do not seek to collect, and we do not knowingly collect, individually identifiable information about children under 13 years of age. Wisconsin Opinion Study only enrolls participants who are 18 years of age or older. 

If Wisconsin Opinion Study learns that a child under the age of 13 has submitted personally identifiable information online, in contravention of these measures, Wisconsin Opinion Study will take all reasonable measures to delete such information from its databases and to not use such information for any purpose, and otherwise comply with the requirements of any applicable law. 

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY 

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting an amended version to the Website and updating the effective date accordingly. Such changes shall take effect immediately upon posting. Please refer to this Privacy Policy regularly.
